More powerful bumpers with bumper covers

Aside from performing specific functions, most of the automotive parts are equipped with safety features. These auto parts, like the suspension system and automotive lighting, enable the driver to safely operate the vehicle. The bumpers, however, were installed for the primary purpose of safety for both the passengers as well as the vehicle itself. Like any other auto part, a bumper may lose its wonder if external factors continuously affects it. An aftermarket part called the bumper covers were developed in order to protect the vehicle's bumpers.

Bumper covers are basically protective add-ons used for bumpers. Together with the bumper, a bumper cover helps protect and safeguard the headlights assembly as well as the other sensitive systems and workings found under the vehicle's hood. Whenever a low-speed or head-on front or rear collision occurs, the bumper will be able to absorb the impact and will prevent severe damage to the vehicle. Moreover, these add-ons enhances absorption of shocks during collisions. Aside from protecting the lighting system and other mechanism other the hood, a bumper also prevent any further damage to the car's frame. During front or rear collisions, the bumper will immediately absorb the impact that may cause serious damage to the car's frame. If the automobile suffered a lot of damage, the owner will surely have to spend a lot for the repair service.

Bumper covers can be installed in a couple of ways. There are those that can be easily installed using stick-ons or double-sided tapes, while some may require more time and effort for drilling holes. With this special aftermarket part, style is not the only thing achieved, but more importantly road safety.

Car Accident Prevention: Easy to Practice

Cavalier driving habits like cell phone use, rubber necking or putting on make up has caused auto accident rates to increase. In fact, distracted drivers account for 98 percent of most collisions. This is significant knowledge, as automobile accidents are the leading cause of death for people under the age of thirty five.

But we can’t just blame cell phones or even a drinking and driving alone for the lack of attentiveness that is the catalyst of horrific accidents that claim thousands of lives annually.

Prevalent driving distractions

Almost all of us are guilty at some time or other of breaking basic driving rules. The reason for this is clear - most of us, as we grow more accustomed to driving, lose respect for the inherent hazards that come with driving hundred of miles per hour in a hurtling metallic object. Losing this appreciation is one the main ways that distraction, and car accidents, can occur.

The top driving distractions outside of cell phone use cited for causing accidents are:

- Changing out the CD or changing radio stations - we all love to listen to tunes as we drive, but an accident can happen in the time it takes to bat an eye - the same amount of time it takes to reach for your favorite CD.

- Driving well above the speed limit - this appears to be a growing phenomenon that will have, and has had, deadly consequences.

- Engaging in activities while driving - Reading, putting on cosmetics or using the laptop while driving; people have done these things and more. While these activities seem innocuous, enough people who do this while operating a motor vehicle dramatically increase their risk of causing an accident.

- Eating and drinking - one doesn’t have to drink alcohol for drinking to be a hazard—the simple ritual of placing to the beverage to mouth can divert ones attention long enough to cause an accident. Eating can also be distracting and in fact, can double a motorist’s chances of getting in a wreck.

Ways to prevent an accident

There are bumper stickers everyone that screams ‘HANG UP AND DRIVE’ but the reality is, we have cell phones on us for a number of reasons so this simple admonition won’t work.

What we can do is try to view a cell phone as an emergency tool that we do not associate with driving. Tell those who will call you during hours not to call unless it is important and keep your phone on vibrate. If you worry that the call could be an emergency, pull into a parking lot and take the call.

Below are a few other things you can do to decrease your likelihood of getting in an accident.

- Slow Down - everyone has somewhere to go, and on any given day, it may be imperative to get somewhere on time. However, if you wind up dead, time will be of little consequence. There is no place you have to be, except for extreme emergency situations, that is worth putting yourself and others in danger.

- Keep your hands on the wheel - changing the CD or eating can be detrimental in a situation where reaction time is key. It is best to keep both hands on the wheel at all times.

Changing attitudes

There seems to be a sense of entitlement that comes with certain driving behaviors. People hate being told they can’t speed or talk on the phone as they drive. This attitude persists despite growing numbers that indicate that this is making our nations roads less safe.

Education is the key, so learn what you can and do what you are able to decrease your own chances of causing an accident. If everyone did this, traffic fatalities may actually decrease and the nation’s highways could become a bit safer.

The Sporty and Capable Volkswagen GTI

It is compact as well as lightweight and certainly to become the car favored by aftermarket tuners the world over. What am I talking about? Volkswagen GTI - a car with a whole lot of moxie and plenty of power to go with it. VW has a hit on its hands with its latest version of the GTI pocket rocket, a car that certainly grabs the attention of car fans. Please read on to learn just what makes the GTI the hands down favorite with the tuner set.
Take a Volkswagen Rabbit and inject it with steroids and you have a Super Bunny. That is exactly what Volkswagen did more than two decades ago when the first soaped up Rabbit hit the streets. Instead of keeping the more docile Rabbit name, however, VW elected to use the GTI, which originally stood for grand touring injection.
Although the Rabbit name quickly gave way to the Golf name here in the US, the GTI designation has lived on. Even as Volkswagen of America plays the name game by once again renaming the Golf as the Rabbit, the GTI is the model name that is reserved exclusively for this high powered compact.
What sets the GTI apart from the Rabbit/Golf pack? Many things including:
A potent 2.0L turbo charged 4 cylinder engine with fuel stratified injection capable of reaching 200 horsepower.
A six speed manual transmission or a six speed automatic. The six speed tranny is a major improvement as it reduces shift time between gears to an absolute minimum. You get to rocket from zero to 60 in no time and with less effort!
Unlike the original GTIs, the current rendition of this beastie VW is available in both 3 and 5 door hatch models. Yes, squeeze in the kiddies while you are at it and take them for a truly memorable joy ride!
The GTI also comes loaded with favorite options as standard equipment including alloy wheels, alloy pedals, sunroof, sport seats, sport instrument cluster, a race inspired steering wheel, and much more. With a retail price beginning at just over $22,000, the GTI is no cheap model and some consumers may find it out of their price league. Volkswagen wanted to distinguish the GTI from the basic tuners out there by giving owners a fully equipped ride with all of the demanded extras included.
The GTI now coursing American highways is actually the fifth generation of this venerable model. During the third and fourth generation, VW seemed to have lost their way thinking that a V6 engine would fit nicely with the vehicle. Unfortunately, it did not and drivers complained about the added weight that the larger engine brought to the car.
The fifth generation model returns to the car's roots by emphasizing speed, nimble handling, and a terrific suspension. Indeed, the VW GTI is one car that isn't afraid to take on larger and heavier sport models and leave them behind in its dust. With a choice of two or four doors, the newest GTI has something for just about everyone.

Refresh Engine with Radiators

Automotive radiators are the important components of a vehicle's cooling system. A vehicle's cooling system is intended to protect the engine from the destructive forces of too much heat. Radiators take charge of removing excess heat from the engine even under the most extreme conditions. Cooling the motor helps it last longer, taking the vehicle to the distance. If the system isn't in good repair, simple tasks such as sitting idle in rush-hour traffic can cause a vehicle to overheat even when temperatures drop below the freezing mark.

Radiators extend engine life, and keep the vehicle's engine at a safe and efficient operating temperature. Without passing the hot coolant through the cool metal grates or cooling cores of the radiator, the incredible heat under the hood of the car or truck would cause the vehicle to very rapidly overheat, potentially leaving the driver stranded. Intense heat could also destroy other parts of the engine that can be very costly to replace. The radiator is a heat exchanger designed to transfer thermal energy from one medium to another for the purpose of cooling and heating. After which, it transfers the heat from the fluid inside to the air outside, thus cooling the engine. This heat-dissipating device is connected to channels running through the engine and cylinder head, through which pumps a liquid.

On some cars, the radiator fan is electrically driven and comes on automatically even after the engine has been turned off. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery before starting to work to keep away from injury. Since the engine works harder than most of auto parts, it has a tendency to overheat; therefore, it needs a cooling system that would keep it operating at the right temperature

When you find a leak because of a rock, a hose, or sometimes because of an accident, replace the radiator to allow motor to continue working and be cooled as it should. Overtime, dirt, dust and rust can build up and clog the essential components of the car's radiator. Therefore, routine maintenance can slow this process and makes the life of the radiator temporarily longer. Timely radiator replacement is also important when the current car radiator wears out.

Be aware of the serious responsibility that comes with driving and car maintenance. Reduce much of the risks with cars by simply being safety conscious and always check radiators to guarantee protection and long time performance of automobiles.

How to Build a Weed eater bike

Having a motorized bike can be great fun. If you are looking to build a weed eater bike here are a few pointers to make your case simple-

How does it Work?

The whole process very simply involves installing a motor on your bicycle and powering your bicycle using the motive force generated by the motor. The motor is usually a 2-cycle variant and runs on a different fuel mixture that is not routinely available at all gas outlets. It is quite cost effective though.

The motor that you plan needs to be mounted suitably on your bicycle. For this you might have to weld the motor in place to the bicycle. Welding the motor directly is not a great idea. You will need to use metal straps to hold the motor and then weld these on to your bicycle.

Using Bicycle Motor Kits

An easier option is directly purchasing a motor that is specifically meant for powering bicycles. These will come with a proper attachment bracket and all you need to do is fit the attachment bracket over the rear wheel using the simple bolts provided with it.

Bicycle motor kits come in with a complete instruction manual and this can be very helpful if you have never done this before.

With a ready made motor kit all you need to do is take out the rear wheel, attach the provided ring (this is a large circular structure that can be easily mounted over the wheel) over the spokes and fit the wheel back the way you removed it. Next, you install the attachment bracket over the rear wheel and position the motor over it, fixing it with the provided bolts.

When this is done, you will need to simply put on the driving belt over the motor rotor and the ring you just fixed on the spokes and the assembly is complete. Lastly, you will need to complete the wiring circuit. These kits come with a throttle and engine kill switch that you can suitably attach on the bicycle handle bar with clips. You will need to attach wires from the motor to the throttle and the engine kill switch. While planting the wire make sure that it does not have any kinks and carefully tape it along the body of the bicycle to reach the throttle.

Your weed eater is now ready to use, after you pour in the fuel. The fuel generally used is gasoline that is mixed with lubricant oil. Having the correct proportion is important. You can create the exact fuel mixture on your own using a 1:1 ratio of gasoline with any good quality motor oil that is meant for use with a typical 2-cycle motor engine.

Motors are usually installed on bicycles as an aid to pedaling. However, you can also use custom motors of greater power to generate a good speed and thrust. Before you do this, it is recommended that you verify if this is allowed in your state, especially the limit of CCs you can have in the engine meant to be used for bicycles.
